The 'Try Again' Mood

I love making New Year's Resolutions.

One thing I only noticed recently(ish - months ago) is that most people I know that get as far as making resolutions make 'stop something' resolutions, for example 'quit smoking' or 'stop eating junkfood'. Whereas I am more likely to choose 'start something' resolutions. Vague, no-target-in-particular goals. Things like 'smile more', 'talk more', 'sing more'...

New Year only comes around once a year though (if you follow only one calendaring system), and I can't wait 'til then.

So this post is about goals. I am in a 'try again' mood right now, and trying again includes giving this blog the attention and posts it deserves.

I am going to meditate more.

I am going to spend more time doing things that make me happy.

I am going to tackle the problems that normally cause me to get blocked up with mental barriers.

I am going to cut myself some slack when I don't live up to my own expectations.

I am going to write more songs.

I am going to finish more of the song projects I started.

I am going to let go of clutter I don't need anymore.

I am going to re-instigate the habit of keeping a gratitude journal.

I am going to fulfil old overdue promises.

I am going to avoid making new promises (where possible).

*something discovered while writing this post: mis-typing 'system' with 'sstem' causes Mac OS X's TextEdit to auto-correct to 'stem'! Grr! Since when has auto-correct been around?

Blast from the Past: Gandhi Autobiography link

Way back in August 2005, when Peter and I were both still at uni, Peter sent me an interesting link he stumbled across while working on his sociology assignment.
Looks interesting, I haven't read that much yet though!

Is this the end?

Wow, I have finally handed my last assignment in! Yay!
Now, assuming I pass, that means no more university studies for me...
which is such a foreign concept. I have been studying for most of my
life... why should it change now? I keep thinking, 'oh but I will come
back to uni next semester', but I need to keep reminding myself that I
won't. I have done everything my university degree requires of me, now
I need to move on! Oh my beloved uni, I shall miss you.

Hmm, maybe I should apply for a job at uni? :P

On to graduation!
